Twin screw extruder has conical screws, with the drive installed between the screws and the source of rotary force. The drive is a worm gearing with the wormgear perpendicular to the plane of the axes of the extruder screws, driven by the source of rotary force and driving the wormwheels of the extruder screws. Device has relatively simple construction, taking up little space. Enables the screw axes which, in conical twin screw extruders cross each other, to be driven at low rates of rotation.
