The supply container (1) for melting adhesive on a woodworking machine is designed to prevent settlement of heated adhesive on the bottom and sides where it may harden or burn. It has a cylindrical internal wall (2), and is fitted with a rotatable agitator (10). - The agitator can be a double-vaned arm (12) sealed against sidewalls (2) and base (5), and extending at least to filling level. This prevents excessive heating of parts of the adhesive, esp. in automatic gluing mechanisms.
