Concn. of anti-oestrogenic principle (I) from the fluids, blood, lymph. colostrum and urine, collected from female mammals shortly after parturition, comprises extracting (I) with an organic solvent, pref. at 40 degrees C when the process is carried out under neutral or acid conditions. Pref. the starting material is first dehydrated at 40 degrees C, esp. by freeze-drying, and opt. lipids in the organic extract are (partly) hydrolysis under strongly alkaline conditions. (I) may be further purified by chromatography or selective extraction. Used in human or veterinary medicine to control undesirable effects of natural or administered oestrogens.
|
