The tractor following, rail-less trailer has hinged wheels at both ends. At each trailer end, there is a device which steer the wheels and this can be coupled to a further trailer. The trailer coupling has a shaft with two arms (12, 15) which are connected by a joint which has a vertical pivot axis. The joint is positioned in the region of the centre between the rear axle of the front trailer and the front axle of the following trailer.
