Door or window metal profile assembly process - involves formation of intermediary cavity and filling with settable thermoplastic material with poor heat conduction

Method for producing assembled profile pieces, partic for the construction of doors and windows, involves at least two spaced metal profiles (1, 2) with projections or undercuts in their inner facing sides. They are connected in their length by an insulation core of poor heat conducting material. Prior to their prepn. between the metal profiles (1, 2) gutter-type cavity is formed. This cavity (14) is open on one side, and has a lower side cover. A liquid thermoplastic synthetic material is then poured in, and after setting the space cover is removed. The process is completed in two stages i.e. a lower level of insulation material is first inserted, and then the completion layer is applied after the inter-position of a separator.
