The arrangement is intended for producing and filling bags (17) by using two foil strips whose edges are welded together. The superimposed foil strips are formed into bags by welding these sides and cutting such that the bags remain attached to the original strip material (16) for transport. The bags are opened by an air stream filled, sealed, cut-off and carried away be a conveyor. The mechanism pref. comprises, in sequence, welding unit (4), a blower (5), a filling station (6), sealing unit (7), a cutter (8), pref. guide plate (9) and a conveyor belt (10). The welding unit may comprise a rotating cylindrical collar with an helical heating filament.
