<p>Fluorine-contg. surfactants of formula Rf-OC6H4SO2-N(R)(CH2)mOSO3-.X+ (I) are claimed. Rf is a perfluorocarbon gp. of formula C2nF4n-1 in which n >=4, m = 1-6, X is alkali metal or (substd.)ammonium; and R is H, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or a gp. (CH2)mOSO3-.X+. The gp. Fr is pref. an oligomer of tetrafluoroethylene. (I) are made e.g. by reacting an alcohol Rf-OC6H4SO2-N(R)-(CH2)mOH or Rf-OC6H4SO2.N (CH2)mOH 2 with chlorosulphonic acid or SO3 at 60 degrees C. (I) have excellent surface active properties in aq. systems.</p> |
