1461512 Supports for component assemblies J DECOSTER 5 April 1974 [6 April 1973 11 Feb 1974] 15424/74 Heading H1R A support for laminar elements, e.g. printed circuit boards comprises a pair of resilient, e.g. U-shaped clips 1, 10 with side limbs 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP>, 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP> whose edges are notched at 2; the yoke having apertures (Fig. 2, not shown) to enhance resilience. Clip 1 is notched or screwed to the end of a rod 3 rotatable in bush 5 secured by nut 6 to angle bracket 7, and a spring 4 on the rod impels clip 1 toward clip 10 with a gripping pressure. The rod carries a knob 8 at its outer end to retract clip 1 towards bracket 7 against the spring, or to rotate the rod while a load is retained between the clips; a set screw 9 in bush 5 enabling the rod to be locked in any position. Clip 10 is rotatably mounted on angle bracket 13 by rivet 12 and washer 11. Angle bracket 7 is screwed to a frame of parallel members 14 interconnected by angle plate 17 screwed thereto, and angle bracket 13 is disposed between 7 and 17 to slide on members 14 to which it is lockable by lever 16 having an eccentric hole through which a member 14 passes, and also by shaping the base of angle bracket 73 as a rectangular channel with registering holes, 23, 24 for the parallel members 14, so that tilting under pressure of spring 4 through the intervening printed circuit board grips the members. The flanges of angle plates 7, 17 may be drilled for fixture to a bench or to rubber feet (not shown) and a working lamp 20 may be affixed by a flexible stem to the carrier frame. In a modification (not shown) the angle bracket 13 may slide in a groove of a carrier base constructed of longitudinal bar members rigidly interconnected. The gripping elements may be hinged clips, and the movable angle bracket may be pin locked in holes of the carrier. |
