<p>Vertical screw mixer has cylindrical or conical mixing screw surrounded by a sheath which is divided along its axis into a number of sections. These are mounted on inclined slide rails, inclination being towards the centre. An upper and lower support is provided. In the region of the upper support, an actuating mechanism from outside the vessel is linked to the sheath sections, this being from power cylinders mounted on the vessel lid with links via actuating levers. Openings are provided on the vessel lid to allow access for cleaning the screw and inside the vessel. The arrangement allows the sheath to be completely removed from the screw so that both sheat sections and the screw can be easily cleaned.</p> |
