摘要 The overvoltage suppressor has three spark-gap groups (1) which are connected in series, are provided with parallel control impedances (4) and in each case contain one spark gap (2) and a non-linear suppression resistor (3) which is connected in series with the spark gap (2). In order to reduce the response delay of the spark gaps (2) in the case of a very steep voltage rise, capacitors (9, 10) are connected in parallel with in each case two series-connected spark-gap groups (1). If switching overvoltages occur with a slow voltage rise, these capacitors (9, 10) are virtually ineffective. The ignition of the spark-gap groups (1) is in these cases achieved by means of an ignition circuit which is constructed from at least two series-connected control resistors (5, 6) and an ignition spark-gap (7) connected in parallel with the lower control resistor (6), and is connected in parallel with the series circuit of the spark-gap groups (1). The upper connection point of the ignition spark-gap is connected via a non-linear coupling resistor (8) to the junction point of the two upper spark-gap groups (1). Thus, during ignition of the ignition spark-gap (7), the upper spark-gap group (1) receives the full, slowly rising voltage. If the voltage rises extremely steeply, all the capacitors (9, 10, 11) and resistors (4, 5, 6, 8) are effective. The response voltage of the overvoltage suppressor is virtually the same for all rates of voltage rise. <IMAGE>
