<p>The plant consists of at least one turntable rotating stepwise on a vertical axis(A) and fitted with equispaced radial gutters(b) each forming guide channels for a row of moulds. The moulds are fed from a moulding machine onto a conveyor track(c) from which they are fed along gutters(b). By using e.g. five moulds in each of sixteen gutters(b), the turntable will hold eighty moulds. The turntable travels past a melting furnace for filling the moulds and, when a freshly made mould is pushed into a gutter(b), the mould at the exit end of the gutter, contg. a cold casting, is simultaneously pushed onto an exit conveyor track(d) leading to a knock-out grid, track(d) is pref. fitted with vibrator. A very small foundry area can be used for moulding, melting, casting, cooling and knock-out.</p> |
