A location mounting for securing and balancing radial cutter blades on the high speed rotary shaft of a food chopping machine. From one face of each blade, a peg extends parallel to the axis of the shaft to engage a cavity in a spacing collar positioned next to the blade on the same shaft. The peg locates the blade w.r.t. the collar and a number of blades with complementary collars are locked axially together on the shaft e.g. by locking nuts on a screwed end of the shaft The bore of the blade is pref. elongated so that the blade can be displaced diametrally of the shaft within the limits of the elongation. This displacement is facilitated by having the blade peg engage a spiral slot in the adjacent face of the spacing collar; rotation of the collar will then alter the moment of inertia of the blade about the shaft axis. Fixing and balancing blades on the rotary shaft of a food chopping machine, partic. for chopping/mincing meat for butchers' and delicatessens' prods. Positive keying and fixing of blades to reduce possible hazards of detachment by centrifugal force at high speeds of rotation. The facility to adjust each blade across a dia. of the shaft, so that out-of-balance forces can be reduced to an extent where vibration is not a problem.
|
