The ultrasonic inhalation instrument has a humidifier vessel to which fresh air is supplied. This vessel has outlet openings for the aerosol generated. The density of the aerosol supplied to the patient can be controlled. Electrical magnitudes for the ultrasonic frequency generators are not affected and the aerosol droplet size is not affected by different ultrasound intensities. Two air channels are connected to the inlet opening (2). One channel (8) is connected to the humidifier vessel (10) in the region of the saturated aerosol (11) generated. The second channel (9) is connected to vessel in the vicinity of the outlet opening (12). A control arrangement (4) is fitted at least into one of the channels (8, 9).
