Vessels, containers, bottles etc. are sterilised using sulphuric acid soln. produced by introducing liquid sulphur dioxide into water to obtain the necessary conc. The washing liquid is removed from and circulated back to the wash tank through a circuit into which the liquid sulphur dioxide is introduced into the return line into the tank. Used for sterilising drinks bottles, food containers etc. The desired concentration can be easily achieved and maintained in the bath without the risk of escape of sulphur dioxide in gaseous form, and explosion risk.
