Arranged in a C-shaped curtain rail is a channel in which curtain support elements run. The curtain rail has a central opening which can be closed by an insert piece. By attaching the guide head of an auxiliary rail (28), the insert piece is displaced and the opening in the curtain rail is exposed. The curtain support elements can then be introduced directly in the channel of the curtain rail via the auxiliary rail (28). In this case, the auxiliary rail (28) is automatically locked on the curtain rail and does not have to be held by manual force. When unlocking and removing the auxiliary rail (28), the insert piece is automatically displaced and closes the opening in the curtain rail so that the curtain support elements can be moved over the insert piece. <IMAGE>
