The full-circle disc brake is spring-operated and released hydraulically or by compressed air, being particularly for motor vehicles. It has a rotary brake housing, and discs sliding freely, but unable to rotate, on a stationary brake support. An actuator separate from the latter incorporates the brake actuating springs. There are two stepped rings (12, 13) fitting one over the other, the space between them (21) being filled with oil or compressed air to release the brake. The springs (16, 17) act against the stepped rings opposite them.
|
