<p>Polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes are provided by effecting the Michael addition reaction of an unsaturated conjugated polyester having a molecular weight of at least 1000 with an aminoalkylalkoxysilane. The said polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes have utility as adhesion promoters between inorganic siliceous materials and organic resins. When the inorganic siliceous material is glass cloth or fibers, the polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes have dual utility as (a) a size or protective coating for glass cloth or fibers and (b) an adhesion promoter between said glass cloth or fibers and said organic resins. Also provided are polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes that are formed by the linear chain-extension of an unsaturated conjugated polyester with an organic diisocyanate prior to the Michael addition of an aminoalkylalkoxysilane.</p> |
