<p>The implants are used to correct hair loss and each comprises a bunch (10) of several strands of matched colour and diameter. The lower end of each strand is hooked (14) to provide an anchorage in the capsule (12) of a silicone elastomer material supporting each implant. Alternatively, strands can be coubled over centrally, the loops providing the necessary anchorage. Each implant is then fitted into an incision made in the person's scalp. This is carried out surgically, the supporting capsule being implanted in the derm, or true skin, underneath the scalp. The process enables the scalp to breathe normally and prevent discomfort.</p> |
