The tap esp. for low pressure hot water equipment has an inbuilt flow controller comprising spiral of helical ribs (5) or grooves formed on the sall of its outlet pipe (4). Alternatively, this spiral section may be in the form of an insert which can be incorporated in older taps to effect the desired flow control. A twisting motion can be imparted to the water leaving the tap by attaching to the tap a centrifuge type of housing (7) into which the water enters tangentially and leaves through an axial outlet (9). The housing walls together with the tangential inlet pipe (8) form guide surfaces for the water leaving the tap.
