An effervescent tablet comprising a physiologically acceptable, ionisable potassium salt, a physiologically acceptable, ionisable chloride, a tabletting lubricant and a CO2- producing couple, e.g. a carbonate and an acid, is made by intermixing the ingredients and tabletting the mixture using equipment having top and bottom punches with resilient faces (e.g. obtained by inserting a disc of rubbery or plastic material into the punch faces). A diuretic, e.g. clopamide, may also be included. |
