<p>The system controls the path followed by the load on a slewing portal-mounted crane in the vertical or horizontal directions. The crane (16) slewing on the portal has a slew angle detector, and the travel motor (13) of the portal (12) has controls causing the portal to travel for a distance determined by the slewing mechanism (18) via the detector. The detector can be an angle indicator coupled to the slewing mechanism, and the controls can include a comparator unit connected to the travel motor. Angle indicator and comparator can be connected via a control unit, which can have a differential adjustable manually to determine the position of the portal when loading, and then changed over to the discharge position.</p> |
