PURPOSE:To follow the deflection of a magnetic sheet and smooth a polished surface by pressing a grinding body supported by multiple plate springs arranged in parallel to a magnetic disk stretched with the magnetic sheet, and rotating the magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:Wide circular recesses 9 and 10 provided on the surface of a disk-shaped rigid substrate 1 (thermoplastic resin or the like) are covered by a flexible magnetic sheet 2 (polyimide film or the like) formed with a magnetic layer to constitute a magnetic disk 18. A grinding body 11 supported by two or more plate springs 13 arranged in parallel with the above magnetic sheet 2 is brought into contact with the magnetic sheet 2, and the rigid substrate 1 is rotated to polish the surface of the magnetic sheet 2. Even if the magnetic sheet 2 is flexed, the grinding body 1 can follow it via the plate springs 13, thus the magnetic disk stretched with the flexible magnetic sheet 2 can be burnish-machined. |
