1504862 Phenoxyalkylamines MAR-PHA SA SOC D'ETUDE ET D'EXPLOITATION DE MARQUES 7 April 1975 [11 April 1974]. 16074/74 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (n = 0, R 1,2 = H, R 3 = H, hydroxyethyl or n = 1, R 1 = OH, R 2,3 = H, C 1-4 alkyl, hydroxyethyl ; R 4 = 2 - exo - isobornyl, 5 - isocamphyl, 2-norbornyl; R 5,6 = H, halogen, C 1-4 alkyl) and their acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts are prepared by reducing the corresponding nitrile or N-hydroxyethylamide (n = 0) or reacting the corresponding oxirane with R 2 R 3 NH (n = 1), optionally followed by salt formation. The preparation of the nitrile and oxirane starting materials is described. The above compounds possess bacteriostatic, bactericidal, vasodilatory and cardiovascular activity, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
