Psychoanaleptic compsns. contain 150-500 (pref. 200-400) mg of 1,1'-dithiobis 1-(isobutryloxyethyl-2-methylvinylene bis N- (4-amino-2-methyl-5- -pyrimidinyl)methyl formamide (Vitaberin). When used at higher doses than those used to treat vitamin B1 deficiency, Vitaberin increases the ability of test animals to learn and retain acquired knowledge. It has been used to treat drug withdrawal symptoms. (depression asthenia, loss of concentration) and to treat psychic asthenia and depression in pediatric and geriatric cases.
