An optical revolution counter uses a light source, a detector, as well as devices attached to the shaft whose rotations are being counted. The devices interrupt the light path in at least two regions. There is simple suppression of stray effects. The source (10) and detector (11) are placed on opposite sides of the shaft (13). Light passes from source to detector via a light guide (16). The light interruption device is a disc (14) with a band of alternating transparent and opaque sections approximately concentric with the shaft and rotating with it. The transmission region is limited by a mask (12).
|
