<p>1502066 Semi-conductor devices SIEMENS AG 2 June 1976 [6 June 1975] 22741/76 Heading H1K In a controllable semi-conductor component 1, a casing for a semi-conductor element 5 is formed by two conical or frusto-conical metal bodies 2, 3 secured together by an insulating ring 4, such that one metal body 3 contacts an anode, and the other metal body 2, which contacts a cathode 6, has a central bore 8 through which a rigid supply terminal 10 extends from the outside of the casing to connect with a control electrode 7. The bore 8 may be filled with insulating material 11. The terminal 10 may be connected to a supply line (not shown) by means of a metallic fish-plate 12 provided with a hole to receive the terminal. Alternatively, the terminal 10 may be connected to the supply line by soldering or by means of a compression spring. Connection of the lower end of terminal 10 to control electrode 7, and of body 2 to the cathode 6, may be made by welding, soldering, alloying, or merely by seating. The semi-conductor element 5, which is separated from the ring 4 by sealing material 15, may be alloyed or soldered on to body 31. Compression springs (not shown) engaging seating faces 9, may be used to press the casing against cooling bodies and also to impose internal contact pressure when alloying or soldering is not used for forming internal electrical connections.</p> |
