PURPOSE:To secure high resolution while maintaining interchangeability with an existent television system by relating a scan synchronizing signal to scan an image pickup part and a scan synchronizing signal to scan a picture display part so as to be integral number-fold to the processing synchronizing signal of a processing recording system. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal S is divided into (n) pieces by an (n) dividing encoder 4 and during an effective period excepting for a horizontal blanking period M' of a processed picture signal S', the respective (n)-divided signals are compressed. Then, the processed picture signal S' is prepared. Since a vertical synchronizing signal is outputted once an (m) frame period of an NTSC system, signal conversion to the NTSC system is executed to the picture signal S. Accordingly, one frame period of the picture signal S is divided into 2m pieces and the vertical synchronizing signal is inserted. Since a vertical synchronizing period is 1-21H and 262.5-283H in the NTSC system, signal division is executed during the effective period excepting for the above mentioned period. The processed picture signal S' generated in such a way is wholly same as the picture signal in the NTSC system. |
