<p>The spoon (2) with a cutting edge (3) and a single prong (4) is for use in eating oysters. One of the long edges of the spoon (2) is provided with a smooth or indented cutting edge (3) and the single prong (4) runs adjacently to this cutting-edge. The arrangement enables the stalk securing the oyster to its shell to be engaged between spoon (2) and prong (4) and, thus, be cut while maintaining the oyster in the spoon. The prong (4) may be orientated so as to diverge slightly from the cutting edge (3). The utensil may be of stainless steel and comprise a spoon-shaped blade (2) with a single prong (4). Alternatively a prong (4) may be provided on each side of the blade (2).</p> |
