Vertical tension is used to clamp the moving part onto the rail. The moving part 21, 36 is of a square C section envelopes and rides on a 'U' sectioned rail 22: the horizontal tops of the U legs 24b are slide support surfaces to which air is fed via perforations and longitudinal conduits 28 within the moving part. The lower terminal cantilever arms 36 are separate units, centrally spring 39 bolted 40 to the main mobile body, bringing roller 33 to bear on the rail soffit 31a and an outer dowelled pad 38a to bear on the moving portion. |
