The brake actuator consists of a 'U' shaped hand grip (2) able to pivot (3) on the air brake valve (1). The brake actuator grip is located in a complementary recess in the dash board or instrument panel to lie flush with the recess when not actuated. The hand grip is provided with a check section (5) located at the inner part of the hand grip. The check works together with the hand grip slide to prevent the parking side of the brake from being actuated until the check has been released.
