<p>Induction pump-throttle enables regulated pouring of metal (alluminium, alloys) from the reverberatory type furnace. The pump is made in the form of a module, which is attached to the wall of the vessel of the furnace. The module includes a unit made of material steadfast from the influence of the molten metal and the inductor of electromagnetic field. Inductor 1 is placed horizontally under the bottom of the unit 2. In the body of the unit there are two chambers 9,10, divided at full length by transversal vertical partition 8. Chambers are connected one to another by the channel 6. In the wall of the transitional chamber 10 there is an aperture 13, which connects the chamber to the chute 4 for the molten metal feed into the crystallizer of the casting machine. The pouring of the molten metal into the crystallizer, located below the level of the vessel of the furnace, is made in the regime of braking by the running magnetic field with frequency 50/60 Hz, directed towards the molten metal flowing from the vessel of the furnace. The speed is regulated by changing the voltage on the winding of the inductor. The control is performed at the signal of the molten metal level sensor in the chute.</p> |
