<p>A hinge for a window or door consists of a block (2), which is used with one or more other similar blocks for an arm (1) extending horizontally from the frame, with a hinge pin (3) passing through both. The pin is retained so that it can be easily removed for painting or maintenance. The pin passes through lugs projecting outwards from the vertical attachment plate, and has smaller diameter portions forming locating grooves for a retaining and positioning spring which is fitted into the back. It is also located vertically by an L shaped leaf spring (17) which suports it underneath. This spring is snapped into position by engaging a ridge (19) across the base of the attachment plate and is removed easily by inserting a screwdriver.</p> |
