1491499 Producing H 2 /CO mixtures EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 31 Oct 1974 [23 Nov 1973 (2)] 47155/74 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] Hydrogen and carbon dioxide are produced by catalytic contact of a carbon monoxide-steam mixture at a temperature above the dew point temperature of the steam and in the range 200-700‹ F., wherein at least a portion of the reaction zone is 30-70‹ F. above the dew point temperature of the reaction mixture at the inlet to the reaction zone, and at a pressure below the dew point pressure of the steam and in the range of atmospheric to 3000 p.s.i.g. using a catalyst comprising a certain alkali metal component, a Re, V, Mo, W and/or Co component, a sulphide component and a carrier of specified surface area and pore properties (see Division B1). The reaction may be effected at a space velocity of at least 300 vol./vol./hr<SP>-1</SP>. Reference is made to Specifications 1,281,051 and 1,388,061. |
