Shock absorber comprises a cell with an inner body of porous finely divided material held together with binder, pref. vermiculite with a Portland cement binder or sawdust with an epoxy resin binder. Around the inner body is wound a wire with its turns spaced apart from each other. The inner body may have the shape of a cone or truncated cone. After installation, the device absorbs or converts sufficient impact energy to prevent damage to the bodies in collision with each other. It can be mfd., installed and maintained easily, functions reliably, and does not even cause sec. damage or problems in case of collision.
