The weft thread (14), inserted into a weft-inserting lamellar comb (1) by means of a primary carrier-medium stream flowing out of a nozzle (13), passes through the orifices (8) of the lamellae forming the comb (1). Some (5) of these lamellae are designed as active lamellae, that is to say they have additional blowing segments (10) which generate a secondary stream. This assists the carrying effect of the primary stream. The axes (15) of these additional blowing segments are arranged in such a way that the weft thread (14) is deflected away from the common axis (12) of the orifices (8) into a region which is as far away as possible from the threading-out gaps adjacent to the upper edge of the orifices.

|
