Umbrella held folded by ring when closed - has spherical ferrule at extremity opposite handle to retain ring

The umbrella has a rod (1) on which ribs (2) are mounted to support the fabric cover (3). When the umbrella is closed the cover is kept folded by a ring (6) in the form of a chain. At the extremity of the umbrella, opposite the handle (4), there is a spherical ferrule. The diameter of the spherical ferrule is greater than the interior diameter of the ring so that it cannot be separated from the unbrella. The extremities of the ribs also have spherical ferrules (7) which, when the umbrella is closed, have a larger diameter than that of the ring.
