During the opening of a door, a closing element (17) connected to the door leaf pushes a piston (16) inwards in the cylinder space of a first constructional unit (10) attached to the door frame. The piston (16) presses on a hydraulic pressure medium (13) which continues through the first constructional unit (10) and through a connecting conduit (12) into a second constructional unit (11). Mounted in the second constructional unit (11) is a second piston (14) which separates the hydraulic pressure medium (13) from a space containing pneumatic pressure medium (15). Thus, during the inward movement of the first piston (16), the second piston (14) is also moved inwards via the hydraulic pressure medium (13) and the pneumatic pressure medium (15) is compressed. After the movement of the door has ended, the pressurised pneumatic pressure medium (15) pushes the first piston (16) together with the closing element (17) outwards via the hydraulic pressure medium (13), thus causing the door to close again automatically. <IMAGE>
