<p>The yielding steel roadway arch support for mines consists of two main segments of the double tee variety working in association with relatively smaller section double tee auxiliary segments. These are placed in pairs between the main segments and joined to them with the aid of clamps forming a trap spaced for fitted adapters. Auxiliary segments (2, 2') are placed between adjoining main segments (1) in the arch support. The distance between the stays on the auxiliary segments and the centre of the stay on the associated main segment is more than half the profile width of the main segment. The auxiliary segments are adapted in combined load bearing capacity to that of the main segments and produce the same arc length as these.</p> |
