<p>The self-supporting construction (1) has a hemispherical shape and consists of adjacent panels (2) which are curved but originally flat, joined together. Each panel has curved lengthwise sides, with the width of each panel diminishing progressively from the base (5) to the top. The various panels (2) are anchored at the bottom by an angle piece fixed to the ground or ballasted. The tops of the panels are held in place by a piece (12) joining all the panels, and it can be annular and act as a support for an adjustable cap (12a). Each panel is joined to the next by means of a flexible, grooved joint on each lengthwise side of which is inserted the lengthwise edge of each of the adjacent panels (2).</p> |
