1480995 Antiseptic compositions KAO SOAP CO Ltd 4 Feb 1976 [25 Feb 1975] 04302/76 Headings ASB and ASE An antiseptic composition comprises an alkoxy aliphatic amine of the formula I or II wherein R 1 is an alkyl or alkenyl group of 8-18 C atoms, R 2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-3 C atoms, R 3 is a hydrocarbon group having 2-3 C atoms, X is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy group, R 4 is a hydrocarbon group having 2-3 C atoms, and m is 0, 1 or 2; and an organic or inorganic compound capable of forming a complex with metals. Suitable complex forming compounds are e.g. disodium ethylenediamine tetraacetate, sodium citrate, 8-hydroxyquinoline and sodium tripolyphosphate. An example of a preferred amine is N, N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)laurylamine.
