The colour television camera has the incoming light split into 3 component beams and passed to the 3 camera tubes. The red channel light beam passes straight through the beam splitting optics and at most 10% of it is reflected by a partially silvered 45 deg. mirror (13) to an image intensifier (17). The intensifier axis is parallel to that of the red tube and is provided with an eyepiece (19) that allows the scene being recorded to be viewed by the cameraman. The advantage lies in compactness, in allowing the cameraman to see the scene as it actually is, and in giving a view-finding image whose sharpness and quality are limited only by the intensifier.
|
