<p>PURPOSE:To print pixels in a staggered form to make a white stripe inconspicuous by shifting a pixel printing timing. CONSTITUTION:A head 1 is divided into a group of even-numbered heating resistors R2j and a group of odd-numbered heating resistors R2j+1. A signal DR is supplied intact to input terminals of even-numbered AND circuits A2j. A signal DDR is supplied to input terminals of AND circuits A2j+1 with a delay from the signal DR by the amount of a 1/2 horizontal line printing period. Furthermore, the reading of data di from a memory 12 is repeated twice during a horizontal line printing period. With respect to circuits 13 - 15 and signals Di, STRB, a processing is also repeated twice in a horizontal line printing period. Therefore, odd-numbered pixels P2j+1 are printed with a vertical shift from the even-numbered pixels P2j by the amount of a 1/2 horizontal line space. Thus, the pixels Pi are printed in a staggered form, and the printing quality is improved with a reduced white stripe width.</p> |
