In order to obtain the advantages of non-abrupt entry and exit of the armature conductors and teeth into and out of the main pole flux in permanent magnet excited machines without skewing the armature slots the pole tip geometry is changed. The permanent magnet liners (2,3) forming the stator poles (N,S) have their axial sides (4,5) made in the form of V-notch and V-projection on opposite sides. This has the effect of progressive reduction of field strength at the pole tips and gives the desired result. By eliminating the need to skew the armature slots the armature core construction becomes simpler, and for mass production motors, the automatic coil and armature winding made easier.
|
