This fixing is designed for the assembly of structural elements which have longitudinal grooves of T section. A short bar (2, 3), just wide enough to be inserted in the slot of the T groove is rotated after insertion, so as to bridge the gap and prevent extraction. The bar is joined to a similar bar via the intermediate rotation nut (4) to which the spanner is applied. When two grooved sections are joined by the fitting, the rotation nut lies between them. Each bar has a conical spike (9) in the centre of the face opposite the rotation nut and has diagonally opposite lower edges (18) chamfered. Its depth is such that when rotated, the chamfers bear on the inner slot edges and force the spike into the opposite face of the T groove, so preventing longitudinal movement.
