1521062 Building module M FENCL 15 July 1975 [15 July 1974] 29532/75 Heading E1A A building is assembled from a plurality of self-supporting modules (Fig. 17) made of reinforced concrete wherein each module has a modular depth MD which is an integral multiple (>1) of a segmental depth SD, not less than 2 feet common to all modules, each module being assembled from two walls a floor and a ceiling, each wall component being of unitary structure, having a flat surface, a surface with vertical flutes which stop short of the bottom to provide a stiffening rim 5, at least two vertical pipes I embedded in the wall at a first distance T from the outer-surface and a second distance D from the end of a segment depth, protruding from the top and bottom of the wall component by an amount equal to the thickness of the ceiling or floor and provided with a lifting nut on the top protrusion and a number of vertical reinforcing bars 2 embedded at points between flutes and protruding likewise, each floor and ceiling component being formed from panels of depth equal to the segmental depth or an integral multiple thereof, having a flat surface, a surface with flutes running in a direction from wall to wall but stopping short to provide two stiffening rims 4, at least one flute being aligned with one of the wall flutes, and holes 6, 7 in the stiffening rims for receiving the pipes and bars of the wall components, the modular structure being assembled in a wall-to-wall, front-to-back, floor-over-ceiling manner to form double wall and floor structures.
