<p>The combined reversing and load-holding gearbox for lorry-mounted winches, is driven by an engine or motor running in one direction only, and which is preferably coupled to it by a propeller shaft. The input and output shafts (1, 2) are coupled together via a clutch (8, 9, 10) engaged as desired, and via a parallel freewheel (19), in series with which is gear train (21, 22, 23). This gear train has a strong self-locking action, and allows reversal of the drive between the input shaft (1) and the portion of the freewheel coupled to the gear train. The gear train can be of the worm type.</p> |
