<p>The drive is for an electric locomotive, or powered vehicle, running rails, with a high-speed motor mounted on driving axle. Planetary gearing in a gearbox has the rotating hollow wheel linked to a spur gear engaging a large wheel fixed to the driving axle. The hub of this encompasses the motor shaft, with play allowed. The spur wheel and large wheel are fitted between the planetary gearing and motor. The spur wheel dia. is less than that of the hollow wheel. Both are mounted in the planetary gearing box, the seating being effected on both sides of the spur gear wheel. The gearbox may be secured on the motor.</p> |
