1466982 Purified glucose oxidase of low catalase content BEHRINGWERK AG 18 Feb 1974 [17 Feb 1973] 7333/74 Heading C3H A glucose oxidase preparation of glucose oxidase activity which is less than 250 units per mg of protein and catalase activity which is not more than 0À1 unit per mg. of protein is obtained by precipitating crude glucose oxidase by means of a water-soluble acridine base, removing the resulting acridine-protein complex and releasing the protein therefrom by adding a soluble salt capable of forming an insoluble or sparingly soluble salt with the acridine base, subjecting the protein to chromatography on an anion exchange chromatographic material optionally preceded by chromatography on a cation exchange chromatographic material, and collecting the eluate having glucose oxidase activity.
