<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a phenomenon of stagnation, heating, etc., of fluid in the vicinity of a seal means, in which a flow of the fluid is made active, by arranging the seal means in a position such that the inflow fluid to an inflow port in a pump housing mostly passes via the periphery of the seal means. CONSTITUTION:Blood is allowed to flow in from an inflow port 14 and pressurized in a pump chamber 16 thereafter allowed to flow out from an outflow port 18. Here by a plurality of blades 32 mounted to a rotary unit 30, the blood receives turning force to generate centrifugal force, and the blood is delivered by converting the centrifugal force into a pressure in the peripheral part of the pump chamber 16. Following this delivery, further the blood is allowed to flow in the pump chamber 16 while the blood is rotated and turned around a rotary seal member 40a brought into slide contact with a fixed seal member 36. As a result, a pair of rotary seal members 40a, 40b are respectively slided in both surfaces of the fixed seal member 36, even when a heating condition is generated by friction heat, the heat is well absorbed by the blood with a seal part prevented from being placed in an overheat condition. Accordingly, such as solidification of protein in the blood is surely eliminated.</p> |
