The appliance used by handicapped persons to pull on, or remove, tights or stockings from the position, comprises a circle (2) of elasticated material, holding the garment open for inserting the leg. This circle has an extension arm attached each side, a loop (3) at the bottom accommodating the rolled up portions of the garment. As the circle is drawn up the leg, the material gives and the garment is unrolled. The appliance can then be removed. When taking off a garment, this is partially unrolled into the loops and held by rubber retaining discs (4) on the arms.
